About Jina Nam
Teacher & Performer

Jina Nam is a New York City–based actress, singer, dancer, and teacher dedicated to integrating artistry, pedagogy, and voice science. She holds master’s degrees in Music Education and Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study in Vocal Pedagogy. She also trained at the Summer Vocology Institute at the University of Utah, studying under Dr. Ingo Titze.

Her performance credits include Off-Broadway (Comfort Women: A New Musical), regional theater (Going West, A Thousand Cranes), and numerous productions such as The King and I (Tuptim), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), Potus (Jean), Avenue Q (Christmas Eve), A Chorus Line (Connie Wong), Miss Saigon (Swing/Dance Captain), and Rent (Alexi Darling) to name a few. She also trained in musical theater at the CAP21 Conservatory in New York.

As an educator, Jina serves on the vocal faculty at Marymount Manhattan College and acting faculty at Pace University, and teaches privately through her studio. She has also coached with Broadway Artists Alliance (BAA) and Gill Mindful Voice Training (GMVT), drawing on more than 14 years of GMVT training, Estill Voice Training (Levels 1 and 2), and evidence-based voice science. Through her advanced study in music education and vocal pedagogy, she learned how to teach—not just how to sing—equipping her to guide students with both technical skill and pedagogical insight. Her teaching empowers students to build healthy technique, deepen interpretation, and grow as performers with confidence and artistry. She is passionate about helping singers and actors of all levels find their authentic voice—on stage, in auditions, and in life.

Speech-Language Pathologist
Jina Nam is a medically licensed speech-language pathologist specializing in voice, upper airway and swallowing disorders. She completed her clinical training at New York City’s leading institutions—the NYU Langone Voice Center, NYU Rusk Rehabilitation, and the Sean Parker Institute for the Voice at Weill Cornell Medicine. She holds licensure in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Jina earned dual master’s degrees in Communicative Sciences and Disorders and Music Education from New York University, along with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Vocal Pedagogy. She is also a graduate of the Summer Vocology Institute (SVI) at the University of Utah/National Center for Voice and Speech, where she trained under Dr. Ingo Titze. She is a recipient of the Distinguished Early Career Professional Award from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Her clinical practice blends evidence-based voice science, vocology, and pedagogy, allowing her to provide individualized rehabilitation and habilitation for both speaking and singing voices. With her unique background as both a clinician and performer, Jina helps clients restore, strengthen, and manage their voices for long-term wellness and success. She is dedicated to helping individuals restore, rehabilitate, and manage their voices—supporting performers and non-performers alike in achieving healthy, confident, and sustainable communication.
